The family of a man who was stabbed to death outside a Greenwich bar have paid moving tribute to him as a “kind loving father.”

Ibrahim Bah, 34, from Bexley, was killed after a “shocking and brutal” fight near the entrance of Belushi’s bar on Greenwich High Road in the early hours of Sunday.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ibrahim’s family said: “Ibrahim was a kind loving father who loved his family very much and will be terribly missed, ‘he belongs to Allah and he returns to Allah’ we wish that justice will be served.”

Officers from the British Transport Police and the Met were called to the scene at 2.15am Sunday.

Speaking about the case the same day, Detective Chief Inspector Steve May said: “This was a shocking and brutal act of violence which has resulted in a man tragically losing his life today.

“While we are at an early stage of our investigation, we believe this attack followed a fight close to the entrance of Belushi’s bar on Greenwich High Road.

“Officers are working tirelessly to locate the person responsible, and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed what happened or the events leading up to it to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“Likewise, if you were driving in the area at the time please check your dash com footage for anything untoward. Your information could be crucial to our investigation.”

A 29-year-old man from Lewisham who was arrested on Sunday has since been released and no further action will be taken against him, said police.

On Monday, a second man, aged 37 and from Greenwich, was arrested in connection with the murder. He currently remains in custody.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 108 of 01/05/22.
