During the women's 25m pistol competition at the Paris Olympic games, images of South Korean athlete Kim Ye-Ji wearing futuristic glasses went viral. She gained attention for her cool demeanor and precision in the women's 10 meter air pistol competition as well. However, upon returning to South Korea, Kim collapsed and passed out during a press conference in Imsil. She was taken to the hospital for observation and reportedly recovered fully.
Kim's collapse was attributed to syncope, a condition where insufficient blood flow to the brain causes loss of consciousness. This can be triggered by various factors such as emotional stress, dehydration, or rapid position changes. While most cases of syncope are benign, repeated episodes may warrant medical attention to rule out underlying heart or blood vessel issues.
