Kim Kardashian filed for a divorce from estranged husband Kanye West a year ago and has opened up about we she did so in a rare discussion about the situation.
While the pair have been very vocal in recent weeks with a series of spats, the subject of divorce has rarely been mentioned.
But now, after staying tight-lipped, Kim, 41, has offered an insight into why she called it a day with Ye, 44.
Speaking in a new interview for the March edition of Vogue, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star admitted she had previously focused on what made other people happy.
She said: "For so long, I did what made other people happy. And I think in the last two years I decided, I'm going to make myself happy.
"And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it's important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy.
"I've chosen myself. I think it's okay to choose you."
She went on to say that now she is in her 40s, this decade is going to be all about "being Team Me" and being the best version of herself possible.
"I'm going to eat well. I'm going to work out," she said. "I'm going to have more fun, spend more time with my kids and the people who make me happy."
Kim and Kanye share four kids together; North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and two-year-old Psalm.
Despite the Gold Digger singer throwing shade at the SKIMS founder in recent weeks, he responded to Kim's latest cover story by writing: "GOD PLEASE BRING OUR FAMILY BACK TOGETHER."
Kim, whose beau Pete Davidson called her his girlfriend for the first time publicly this week, continued to say that she'll never diss Ye to their kids.
"Make sure you are your co-parent's biggest cheerleader, no matter what you're personally going through," she said.
Earlier this month she had tried to diffuse her public spat with her former husband of seven years after he accused her of allowing daughter North to use TikTok against his will.
Kim wrote on February 4: "Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.
"It saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way."
