The US rapper was all set for a showdown with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, but it seems he’s had a last-minute change of heart.
Kim, 41, wanted to be declared legally single, even though financial and custody issues have yet to be resolved in the case - but the reality TV icon has now been declared legally single and her wish has been granted.
The mum-of-four was expected to ask a judge to order it, as Kanye, 44, didn’t want to be divorced and has made several attempts to win her back in recent weeks.
However, following their very public war of words recently – in which Kanye shared personal text messages between them on social media – the Donda rapper has made an unexpected U-turn.
In a statement to Hollywood Unlocked, Kayne said: “I’ve asked my team to expedite the dissolution of my marriage to Kim so I can put my entire attention into our beautiful children.”
The couple split in January 2021 and Kim officially filed for divorce a month later.
Last month, Kim insisted that she wanted her divorce to be pushed through as her estranged husband was causing her 'emotional distress'.
In documents obtained by TMZ, Kim stated: "I very much desire to be divorced."
Kim told a judge she had asked Kanye to keep their separation private, but the star has not done so.
The concerned reality star said: "Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress."
