Kim Kardashian's lawyers accuse Kanye West of 'strategically' trying to slow down divorce

Kim Kardashian 's lawyer has accused her estranged husband Kanye West of 'strategically' changing his legal representation to slow down divorce proceedings.

Laura Wasser, representing Kardashian, accused West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, of 'strategically' changing his legal representation to slow down the proceedings.

West’s new lawyer, Samantha Spector, admitted on Wednesday that she had been involved in the case for 'less than 24 hours'.

The rapper was previously represented by Chris Melcher.

Despite the dissolution of their legal marital status, there are further conditions regarding retirement plans and asset management that are still to be resolved.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim, 41, has been declared legally single by the US court, following the latest hearing in her divorce proceedings from the rapper.

The reality TV star is now changing her name from Kim Kardashian -West back to Kim Kardashian.

Earlier today, it was reported that Kanye, 44, gave estranged wife Kim the divorce she wants at their court hearing so he can focus on their 'beautiful children'.

The US rapper was all set for a showdown with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, but it seems he’s had a last-minute change of heart.

Kim, 41, wanted to be declared legally single, even though financial and custody issues have yet to be resolved in the case - but the reality TV icon has now been declared legally single and her wish has been granted.

The mum-of-four was expected to ask a judge to order it, as Kanye, 44, didn’t want to be divorced and has made several attempts to win her back in recent weeks.

However, following their very public war of words recently – in which Kanye shared personal text messages between them on social media – the Donda rapper has made an unexpected U-turn.

In a statement to Hollywood Unlocked, Kayne said: “I’ve asked my team to expedite the dissolution of my marriage to Kim so I can put my entire attention into our beautiful children.”

The couple split in January 2021 and Kim officially filed for divorce a month later.

Last month, Kim insisted that she wanted her divorce to be pushed through as her estranged husband was causing her 'emotional distress'.

In documents obtained by TMZ, Kim stated: "I very much desire to be divorced."

Kim told a judge she had asked Kanye to keep their separation private, but the star has not done so.

The concerned reality star said: "Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress."
