Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson splashed out on a holiday to Tahiti but fans were led to believe that they were actually in Australia after a local told a fib.
The couple lapped up the sunshine as they kayaked along the stunning French Polynesian waters before Pete flew down under to film his new movie.
A cafe owner in Queensland claimed that the Kardashian had joined Pete after he said that they had dined at his establishment - sparking a media frenzy.
Matt Black, who manages Botanica Cafe Bar Kitchen in Cairns, told ABC Far North that he had served the couple.
However, it was revealed that Kim was actually in Los Angeles with her kids and hadn't been in the country in years.
Daily Mail Australia called the fan out, pointing out that the SKIMS founder was pictured in her home town at the same time she was allegedly in Australia.
She was seen climbing out of her Lamborghini in LA.
The cafe owner didn't just say that he saw the couple, he went into specific detail about how he was forced to give up his phone so no one could take pictures of them.
"We had to put our phones out on the counter," he claimed, adding that the security detail also requested their CCTV footage remain private.
"There was just me and my barista, and to be honest, he didn't know who they were. He's really out of the loop with that sort of stuff."
He also said that the pair were "super cool and respectful" towards the cafe's staff.
Adding that they were very "chilled out".
He also shared a photo of a journalist standing outside the cafe with the caption: "Chasing that scoop!"
A representative for Pete dismissed the cafe manager's claims saying: "Pete is currently in production in Australia without Kim."
Pete, who was certainly in Cairns, was seen posing with excited fans on Wednesday night.
Other fans also say they spotted the Saturday Night Live funnyman at a casino.
He is filming his new film Wizards! which will be filmed there for the next few months - so it's likely that Kim will be making a trip to Australia at some point throughout that time.
