Kim Kardashian 's love life has been the hot topic of conversation ever since she first locked lips with Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson back in October.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 41, first met the Staten Island comedian and actor, 28, when she took on SNL hosting duties and topped off her unforgettable appearance by planting a kiss on Pete's lips.
Since then, the seemingly smitten pair have enjoyed a string of low-key dates in New York, and Kim is even believed to have whisked Pete away on a romantic vacation to the Bahamas at the beginning of the year.
Despite their 'relationship' making headlines every week, Kim's close friends have insisted that she and Pete are merely having fun as they describe their romance as a 'fling'.
Kim, who shares four children with estranged husband Kanye West, hasn't been able to 'move on' from their split after she filed for divorce last February, her friends have said.
Opening up about Kim's complicated love life, a source close to the reality TV star told Closer magazine that the SKIMs founder is 'confused' amid her romance with Pete.
"Kim and Kanye can't seem to let each other go and move on - they're still desperately clinging on to one another," the insider told.
"Kanye's frustrations is sparked by his longing to get Kim back and those close to her believe that she may even be flaunting her romance with Pete in a bid to get attention from Kanye. So this battle seems to be rooted in not being able to leave one another alone."
The source continued: "It seems Kim has thrown herself into a rebound fling all aimed at riling Kanye.
"While Kim is still clinging on to Pete, there is a belief among her friends that there's no longevity in it and she's hinted that it's never going to be her happy ever after."
It comes after Kim's sisters unfollowed Kanye on Instagram following his rants about her new beau Pete.
Kim, 41, was the first to unfollow her estranged husband - who she is in the process of divorcing - after he shared private messages between them discussing the situation.
Her sisters Kourtney, 42, Khloe, 37, Kendall, 27, and Kylie, 24, have all since followed suit and no longer follow the rapper.
Kim's mum Kris Jenner, 66, is the only one who still follows Kanye.
The 44-year-old rapper let rip at Pete, in a series of now-deleted Instagram posts branding him a "d***head", mocking his Hillary Clinton tattoo and sharing a private message from him.
