Killer executed by lethal injection's final words as arteries are cut into to give dose

A killer executed by lethal injection said his final words before his arteries were cut into, as state officials reportedly struggled to administer his fatal dose.

Murray Hooper, 76, was being killed at the state prison in Florence, Arizona with a lethal injection. Officials are believed to have struggled inserting IVs into him for 25 minutes - and were forced to cut into his femoral artery.

The killer reportedly looked to witnesses through the glass and said: "Can you believe this?" as he watched on in horror.
