Kieran Tierney’s 13-word message to ex-Arsenal star Jack Wilshere as Aarhus transfer confirmed

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has sent a heartfelt message to Jack Wilshere as he finally sealed a move to a new club.

The former Gunners’ midfielder has joined Danish outfit Aarhus on a deal until the end of the current season - a contract that includes the option for a further extension.

The move brings to an end the 30-year-old’s long wait for a fresh opportunity having been released by Championship side Bournemouth at the end of last season, whilst he has also been training with Arsenal in an attempt to retain his fitness.

He has finally managed to seal a move though, with Aarhus giving him the opportunity to impress and one of those who has been training at close quarters with Wilshere - Kieran Tierney - has given his say on the move.

Posting on his Instagram story, the Scottish defender wrote: “My man!! Congrats.

“Buzzing for you.. You’ll smash it. And I’ll miss u.”

It is certainly not a surprise to see Tierney wish Wilshere the best of luck ahead of his move to Scandinavia having previously admitted the pair have got close since the midfielder’s return to London Colney.

Speaking earlier this month, he said: "My best mate at Arsenal would be Rob Holding.

"He helped me a lot when I first came, so I’m grateful for that.

"And also now Jack Wilshere's training with us, I’ve been very close with him. He’s a great guy and also a great player."

Wilshere will certainly hope to have a positive impact with Aarhus over the next few months as they attempt to steer themselves away from the threat of relegation.

Currently sitting in the lower-half of the Superliga table, they face the prospect of entering the second stage of the season in the relegation stage.

They sit four points off of the top-half though and should they secure their place in the Championship round then they will be aiming to secure their first league title since 1986.

After securing a move to Aarhus, Wilshere has already been giving his thoughts on the switch.

He said: “I am at a point in my career where I need to get started again after a difficult period.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity AGF has offered me and I will do everything I can to help the team move forward. I am very much looking forward to contributing to the team.”
