Khloe Kardashian has updated fans on her skin cancer journey after she had melanoma removed from her cheek in October 2022.
The 39-year-old was left with an indention on the left hand side of her face following the surgery, which she documented on her family’s reality TV series, The Kardashians.
Almost a year on, the Good American co-founder reflected on her health scare on her Instagram and revealed how said she has been waiting “patiently” for almost a year to do something about the mark left behind from her operation.
She shared on her Instagram Story on Tuesday night: “For those who do not know I had a skin cancer scare on my face.
“We had to remove a tumour from my cheek, I was Ieft with an indention. I am definitely not complaining because I would rather have an indention than melanoma any day.”
After getting the all clear, the TV star revealed she will now undergo cosmetic injections to fill the area, adding: “I waited for over nine months to get this filled by the way.
“Patience is everything and of course we have to make sure medically everything is all safe.”
Khloe explained that the filler won’t last forever and will now “always be something” she has to do.
"I look insane in these pics but I'm just so happy that my face is slowly coming back together ha! I don't even know how else to word this," she wrote alongside before-and-after photos of her indention being filled.
In another update, the US star described her surgeon, Dr Garth Fisher, an “angel” for making sure she is now “completely cancer free” and thanked him for leaving her with only a small scar after her procedure.
She added: “Not only did he remove the tumor and made sure that I am completely cancer free but he did such a f—ing stellar job on making my scar as small and beautiful as possible.
“Thank you so much, Garth! You know I adore you.”
In a separate post, she shared an image of her stitching and bandaged cheek, writing: “I know this looks crazy and pretty massive, which it was, but for all good reason @garthmd made sure to protect the stitches and make sure everything was flat as possible so there was no stretching of the scar, incision area, and we tried to avoid keloiding as much as possible...He's just the best.”
Concluding her health update, Khloe urged her fans to get regular skin cancer checks, writing: "I never imagined that this tiny spec would turn into skin cancer and I can’t fathom what could have possibly happened had I not gone to the doctor to get it looked at.
“Don't ever feel embarrassed or like you're making a big deal about nothing, or that you're being paranoid.
“There is no such thing as being too careful. With over 5 million cases diagnosed in the United States each year, skin cancer is America's most common cancer.”
