KFC taps former Taco Bell exec to overhaul global loyalty and brand strategy

  • KFC has named longtime Yum Brands executive Amy Ellis Durini as its first-ever global chief brand officer, effective November 1.
  • Durini will oversee global brand strategy, loyalty, retail, and new concept development as the chain seeks to modernize its brand.
  • The fast-food company is aiming to strengthen its U.S. market position against rivals like Chick-fil-A and Raising Cane's following a June rebranding initiative.
  • KFC's recent rebrand features a refreshed logo, store redesigns, new dipping sauces, boneless chicken items, and a new beverage line called Kwench by KFC.
  • In addition to KFC's overhaul, parent company Yum Brands recently completed the $2.7 billion sale of Pizza Hut.
