A key stretch of the A37 between Bristol and Yeovil will close for two days later this month, creating a ten-mile diversion for drivers.
The road is set to be shut at the village of Ston Easton in Somerset on March 30 and 31, while "patching" work takes place. Travel Somerset said delays are "likely", according to roadworks website One Network.
The closure will stretch from 260 metres south of the junction with Hay Street in the village, and will be shut southwards for a total distance of 102 metres. The work will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm on both days.

During the patching work, the road has to be shut because "works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road". There could also be a danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, if it is not closed.
The A37 is a popular route for commuters, holidaymakers and hauliers travelling from the M4 to the south coast. As a result, this closure near Rush Hill junction, where it diverts from the A39, is likely to cause delays.
A 17km diversion route, which equates to 10.5 miles or 17 minutes driving, has been suggested by Travel Somerset. It is as follows:
- Head south on A37 for 1.8 km
- Turn right onto B3139 for 4 km
- Turn right onto B3135 for2.4 km
- Turn right onto A39 for 6.9 km
- Turn right onto A37
- Your destination will be on the left.
