It might surprise some younger fans of the Boston Celtics to learn present-day Celtics broadcaster Brian “White Mamba” Scalabrine used to be a pretty nasty 1-on-1 player on the court. At least, that is what his former teammates on the Banner 17 squad from 2008 say.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Showtime Basketball “KG Certified” podcast, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett shared their recollections of the onetime USC star’s mano a mano game back in the day in a short put together to laud White Mamba’s skills.
