Sources close to Kevin Costner have branded rumours that he allegedly impregnated a crew member as "total BS", with the actor's representatives adding speculation is "absolutely not true".
The rumour that the Yellowstone crew member allegedly fell pregnant with Kevin's child began to unfold after it was announced that his second wife Christine Baumgartner had filed for divorce.
Christine cited that she'd be ending her 18-year marriage to the 68-year-old due to "irreconcilable differences" but it's been revealed that Kevin was completely blindsided by the news.
In his representative's statement, according to TMZ, the divorce has come from "circumstances beyond his control."
"It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action," the statement read.
"We ask that his, Christine's and their children's privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."
In her filing, Christine asked for joint custody of their three children: Cayden, 15; Hayes, 14; and Grace, 12 and didn't ask for spousal support, hinting that there was a prenuptial agreement between the former couple that would determine it.
The source of the rumour that Kevin had allegedly impregnated a crew member is unknown but tweets regarding the rumour were sent out, with one user writing: "I wonder now, if the drama surrounding Kevin Costner and Yellowstone 'scheduling,' was due to the rumor of him potentially getting someone on set pregnant? Was he trying to avoid or is there more to it? Or just a rumor?"
A second user chimed in after learning that Costner's wife filing for divorce, tweeting: "So it wasn’t Bentley who got a girl pregnant on the Yellowstone set.. it was Costner."
Kevin's personal issues and the unfounded rumours surrounding him appear to have had an impact on his blockbuster series as Entertainment Tonight reported that he would not be returning to the show after the conclusion of the fifth season.
Puck News reporter Matthew Belloni told the publication that the show is now in "limbo."
"Yellowstone is really in limbo right now until they can figure out whether Costner is coming back or, more likely, whether he's going to be written out of the show," he explained.
"Once that determination is made, they can finish writing the second half of this season, shoot it, and it will likely air in the fall."
