Kerala: Congress leader KV Thomas defies Sonia Gandhi, to attend CPM seminar on Saturday

KOCHI: Defying orders from the Congress high command, senior party leader and former Union minister K V Thomas on Thursday said he would attend a seminar being organised by the CPM at its ongoing 23rd party congress in Kannur on Saturday.

Thomas told a news conference here that the topic of the seminar is nationally relevant and the party should rectify its mistake. “The general election is scheduled in 2024. As the political situation is not favourable to the Congress, it is joining hands with Left parties in all states, except in Kerala,” he said.
