Kentucky Trump rally turns farce as woman collapses, bored Trump orders funeral music to be played

Donald Trump loves being the center of attention at a rally, but he clearly doesn’t care too much about the folks cheering for him.

Winter Trump rallies have been marked by the elderly, confused attendees being abandoned in the middle of nowhere in freezing temperatures, and he’s notoriously disparaging to anyone who steps out of line during them.

Trump’s attitude to his supporters’ well-being was on full display last night when a woman collapsed immediately behind him. Trump turned and asked, “Do we have a doctor in the house”? As Hasan Piker amusingly pointed out, the crowd of a Kentucky Trump rally is an unlikely place to find a qualified medical professional:

“If there’s one building where there’s no doctor in that crowd, it’s this building. This is the one f–king room in Kentucky where it’s the least likely for a doctor to be in!”

“Wanna hear a song?”

Anyhow, Trump stood there awkwardly as the stricken woman lay on the ground behind him. Then, a bit bored, he said, “Wanna hear a song? You think the people backstage are listening to me? How about… ‘Ave Maria’?”

In a rare bit of credit to Trump, requesting a famous funeral song with the lyrics “Pray, pray for us sinners, Now and at the hour of our death, The hour of our death” as one of your supporters is receiving urgent medical attention behind you is objectively kinda funny. Sadly, though it would have been extremely amusing, no ‘Ave Maria’ was actually played.

We should underline that, for all Trump knew, the woman could have been actually dying. Fortunately, she was fine and, as it turns out, there was at least one doctor in the crowd – Dr Oz! Trump cheered him on, saying, “It’s Dr Oz, can you believe it? Dr Oz! He’s a good doctor. Thank you, Oz!”

After that, Trump returned to ranting about Gavin Newsom (or, as he puts it, Gavin New-scum). The whole incident ended up as more of a bizarre diversion from Trump’s speech (and yet more strangeness was on the way courtesy of Jake Paul’s overactive armpits), but it does once again underline that when Trump sees one of his biggest fans collapse, his first reaction is how to milk this for laughs.
