A police officer was airlifted to hospital after a collision involving a motorbike on the M25 on Sunday.
The motorbike was “being driven the wrong way” along the clockwise carriageway of the M25 near Swanley, said Kent Police.
Police said their patrols were responding to a report of a stolen motorcycle when the bike collided with a male officer.
The M25 has reopened in both directions following an incident in which a motorcycle driving the wrong way near J3 for Swanley collided with one of our officers, causing him serious injuries. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Thank you for your patience.

The M25 was closed in both directions near Junction 3 for Swanley following the collision at around 4.05pm on Sunday, police said.
The officer was airlifted to a London hospital for treatment.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of offences including dangerous driving.
Police said both carriageways have reopened but traffic remained heavily congested as of early Sunday evening.
