KENNY MILLER has revealed what he thinks Rangers' new boys need to do in order to improve on their early season form.
The Light Blues defeated Union Saint-Gilloise last night to progress to the Champions League play-offs.
From their four competitive games so far, Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side have won three and lost one - the first leg of their qualifier with USG last week.
While victories over Livingston and Kilmarnock were welcome, it was not the prettiest of performances on either occasion.
Miller says that's perfectly understandable with some many new players getting used to their new surroundings.
But the ex-striker did offer his opinion on where they can improve when playing some of the lower level domestic teams.
He told Sky Sports: "It’s the early stages of the season and there’s been a lot of new players brought into the club.
“They probably still need to get to grips with what it means to play for Rangers and the constant scrutiny that you’re under.
“As much as they were pretty good last night, I do think it’s still pretty static in the final third.
“Tav is the one looking to get beyond. Scott Arfield was looking to get involved last night.
“I think guys like Lawrence can move off the ball a little bit more.
"Even Ryan Kent, as much as he’s an outstanding player, I think he made a massive difference to the team last night. Just having that threat, it would’ve put doubts in the Union defender’s minds.
“Facing these kind of deep blocks, there needs to be quick combinations that Rangers are usually really good at.
“I think all of the forward players will start to be a lot more cohesive as the season goes on.”
The former Scotland star was full of praise for Tavenier, who scored first on Tuesday night to set Rangers on their way to the win.
He added: "I don’t think you can look much further than the captain. He embodies everything that the team is about.
“More often than not, when the big moments arrive, he’s the one who’s there to take advantage.
“He was the move looking to make that forward, attacking move to get on the end of a pass from Tom Lawrence. He was beyond the last line, he was threatening the goal and it led to the second. He was fantastic.
“I also do like the look of Malik Tillman. There’s a lot more to come from him, but with the way he’s been playing, the way he receives the ball, you talk about his goal, it was impressive.
“I think he’ll be a big player for them this season.”
