Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum has announced that she will not be participating in the upcoming 3-on-3 women's league, Unrivaled. Plum cited the need to take more time for herself during the offseason as the reason for her decision, which she shared on social media.

The Unrivaled league, co-founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, is set to kick off its season on January 17th and will run through March, with all games scheduled to take place in Miami. Plum was initially named to the roster of the Laces, one of the league's six teams.

Other notable players expected to feature for the Laces include Kayla McBride and Courtney Williams from the Minnesota Lynx, Alyssa Thomas from the Connecticut Sun, and Stephanie Dolson from the Washington Mystics. Plum expressed her gratitude to the league for understanding her decision and wished all the players and the league success in her social media post.

In addition to Plum, WNBA rookie of the year Caitlin Clark from Indiana has also opted out of participating in the Unrivaled league. Plum, who is 30 years old, had a busy season playing in 44 WNBA games, including the playoffs. She was also part of Team USA, which clinched a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris earlier this year.

Plum's stellar performance earned her a third consecutive selection to the WNBA All-Star Game, showcasing her talent and dedication to the sport. Fans can stay updated on WNBA news and developments by visiting the official WNBA website.
