Kelsey Parker has admitted to struggling with the "little things" as she prepared to spend her first Christmas without her late husband Tom.
Kelsey, 32, and her family faced heartache as her The Wanted singer husband, Tom, died aged 33 in March this year following a brave battle with a brain tumour.
Widow Kelsey, who shares two children with her late husband, has been incredibly open about her grief following Tom's passing.
As she prepared to celebrate her first Christmas following the singer's death – Kelsey opened up to fans in an Instagram post.
Kelsey shared a throwback photo of herself with her husband kissing her on the cheek while the couple stood in front of a Christmas tree alongside their children Aurelia, two, and one-year-old Bodhi.
In the caption, she revealed how she was struggling with the "little things" during the festive season.
She wrote: "The littlest things that I didn’t really think of before now feel so huge.
"Going food shopping - no need to buy your Christmas favourites this year. Setting places at the table. Writing gift tags just from mummy."
Kelsey added: "I’ve been putting Christmas off because honestly I’ve been dreading it.
"But it’s for the kids, they’ve always been my reason to get up each day and find the positives, and never has that been more true than this week.
"There’ll be empty chairs tomorrow and tears, but there’ll also be smiles, laughter and dancing - just as you would’ve had it."
Kelsey then ended her honest caption with: "#PositiveParkersForever".
She was soon flooded with supportive messages as Lydia Bright wrote: "Sending you all the love I have," followed by a string of red heart emojis.
"I was just thinking about you and wondering if you’re ok then picked up my phone , I looked at it and bam , there you were . My phone read my mind. Sending a virtual hug," Arlene Phillips added.
And Jess Wright penned: " Sending you so much love," followed by red heart emojis.
On Christmas Day morning, Kelsey then posted snaps of her children and herself on her Instagram page alongside a poignant quote about grief.
It read: "There are no rules to surviving holiday grief. Do what you need to survive.
"Honour your loved one how you need to, and what feels best for your fragile, aching heart.
"You are missing a huge piece of you, so do whatever you need to do to find a sliver of peace."
Kelsey then thanked her following for their support in the caption as she wrote: "Merry Christmas everyone
"Thank you to everyone who has commented and sent messages this year. I do read them all and having so much support really means the world.
"If you’re missing someone today remember there’s no right or wrong way to be feeling. Do what’s right for you and be kind to yourself."
