Kelly Osbourne has spoken out after receiving a wave of body-shaming comments online, choosing to address the criticism directly during an already painful time. The singer and TV personality took to Instagram to call out people who have been targeting her appearance following the death of her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

Rather than staying silent, Kelly made it clear she has had enough of being judged while she is grieving. Kelly Osbourne slams body-shamers amid grieving period following her father, Ozzy’s, death.

In her message, Kelly began by acknowledging the support she has received, saying it has helped her cope with the loss of her father. She explained that while many people have been kind and compassionate, others have gone out of their way to be cruel.

“First, I want to start by saying I received so many lovely, lovely, lovely comments from people that have really helped me get through this time in my life since losing my father,” Kelly began, according to E! Online.

She then addressed the darker side of what she has seen online, admitting she was shocked by some of the remarks aimed at her looks. “But I also received some disgusting, horrible, mean, brutal comments. And I’m just here sat like, ‘What do you expect from me? What do you expect me to look like right now?”

Kelly did not hide how deeply the loss of her father has affected her day to day life. She shared that simply managing to function has been a challenge, and that people seem to forget she is human and grieving.

“The fact that I’m getting out of bed and facing my life, trying should be more than enough and I should be commended for that.”Her words struck a chord with many followers, especially those who have experienced loss themselves. Kelly pointed out that grief does not come with a tidy timeline, and it certainly does not look the same for everyone.

She also had a firm message for those who feel entitled to criticise her during this period, suggesting their comments say more about them than about her.

“You need to take a strong, hard look at yourself because most of the things you’re saying about me is how you feel about yourself,” she noted. Kelly went on to explain that assumptions about her health and appearance are misplaced and unfair, especially given what she is dealing with behind the scenes.

“Prime example you say that I look ill, Well, I am ill right now. My life is completely flipped upside down. I don’t understand why people expect me to bounce back and look like everything is just fine in my life when it’s not,” Kelly added.

The post has since sparked widespread support from fans who praised Kelly for her honesty and vulnerability. Many applauded her for addressing the issue head on and reminding people that grief is not something you can switch off or hide.

Kelly’s message serves as a reminder that public figures are still people, and that compassion matters, especially when someone is mourning the loss of a parent.
