Kellogg’s has produced a new coffee-flavoured breakfast cereal which is due to be launched in supermarkets in the coming months.
The cereal brand's new Barista Edition Chocolate Mocha Flavour is a twist of its classic Crunchy Nut Granola, and has been infused with the taste of the coffee bean.
The cereal won't be caffeinated, as it is flavoured throughout the pieces of granola, so can be enjoyed alongside your morning brew.
As reported by the Mirror, the cereal is being launched after food developers spent 18 months sampling different coffee flavours. They tested 12 different recipes before tasters settled on the final one.
A spokesperson for Kellogg's, said: "We know coffee is one of the UK's favourite morning drinks. So, it seemed like the right next step for us to look into how we could combine the crunch of our Crunchy Nut Granola with the delicious flavour of coffee.
"Coffee and breakfast is a natural partnership - and our Barista Edition has been influenced by Europe's cafe culture and the continental love of coffee and cereal.
"Our coffee tastes are all different, so our team of developers spent months sampling different types of coffee to try and get a flavour that was well rounded and just right for everyone."
The new cereal is launching in Waitrose next week before rolling it out in other stores over the coming months.
