Keir Starmer compared to Phil Collins after weird photoshoot

KEIR Starmer has been panned over a bizarre photograph used to illustrate the cover of Labour’s latest conference brochure.

The picture appears to be a visual tribute to the 1997 Labour manifesto, which featured a solemn-looking Tony Blair on the cover.

While Starmer may have been trying to channel his idol, he has attracted slightly less flattering comparisons, ranging from Phil Collins to George Michael.

One Twitter/X wit commented: “Why does this year's Labour conference brochure look like a 1998 solo album of songs about why he left the band”.

Another, mockingly posting a picture of Collins’s 1989 album …But Seriously, said: “But seriously, what's the big deal about the brochure for the Labour Party conference? I like it.”

And the photograph even made it to the Twitter/X account “insane moments in british politics”.

Another social media wag added: “Is it just me, or can anyone else see the similarity between Labour's annual conference brochure and the cover of George Michael's greatest hits?”

The latter could at least boast of a greater commitment to left-wing causes than the current Labour leader.
