Oregon’s standout pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux has a chance to go first overall in the NFL draft this year after dominating for the Ducks the last three years. The Los Angeles Rams obviously won’t have a chance to draft him with their first pick not coming until the third round, but he isn’t sure he’d want to play for them anyway.
Despite being from Los Angeles and growing up a Rams fan, Thibodeaux said on ProFootballTalk Live that he doesn’t know if he’d want to play in L.A. because of the taxes.
“Well, I don’t know if I actually want to play for the Rams because of tax purposes but until I get drafted, I’m a Rams fan,” he said.
Of course, Thibodeaux is rooting for the Rams in Super Bowl LVI, pulling for his hometown team against the Bengals. He’s also a big fan of Von Miller, picking him as his favorite player in the NFL and the guy he watches to learn from.
“I always say Von Miller, obviously, because he’s the guru of technique, but there are a lot of guys that are killing it,” he said.
Thibodeaux won’t get a chance to play for the Rams for at least a few years, but with the way they trade their draft picks, maybe he’ll be someone they target down the road like they did with Dante Fowler Jr. and Miller.
