Katy Perry has said she is "so grateful" for her blended family as she opened up about her relationship with her fiancé' Orlando Bloom's ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
The 38-year-old pop sensation presented Miranda, 39, with an Excellence in the Arts Award at the 20th annual G'Day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles, where she described the model as her "sister".
During her speech, Katy said: "Some of you might be confused about why I'm introducing Miranda. That doesn't play into the antiquated narrative of ex-wives and new wives.
"And yes, it's true, most of the media would like to see us mud wrestle.
"But we are here to lead by love because Miranda is love, and as a lot of you know, love comes in many family iterations."
The California Gurls hitmaker continued: "I'm so grateful for our modern blended family.
"It's like I gained another sister, one with whom I usually sidebar from the main family chat and agree with."
Miranda was married to Katy's fiancé Orlando Bloom from 2010 to 2013 and the former couple share 12-year-old son Flynn.
Orlando and Katy started dating in 2016 before becoming engaged in 2019. They share a two-year-old daughter Daisy.
Before Miranda received her award, she posed up a storm with Katy on the red carpet.
Katy made sure to turn heads wearing a shiny gold bralette and matching Zimmermann floor-length skirt.
She styled her long black hair in a half-up half-down style, with her bangs framing her face. The singer opted for volume lashes which she paired with a nude lipstick.
Miranda looked sensational in a white strapless dress which clung to her petite figure.
She styled her hair in loose waves and accessorised her look with silver earrings, opting for a natural makeup look.
Miranda previously shared her joy at co-parenting with Katy and said the two formed a strong bond after attending family events together.
"We really do always think of what is the best thing for Flynn, and I just think that's the most important thing," she said during an appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show.
Speaking on her Moments podcast, she added: "I saw how she was with Flynn, she was very playful with Flynn, she was not trying to be his mum.
"She was just being friendly and kind and that’s all you can ask for."
