Katy Perry dismissed rumours she has split from fiancé Orlando Bloom, as she credited him for helping her beat depression.
The 37-year-old singer and the Lord of the Rings star have been plagued by rumours of separation after the Firework hitmaker was spotted without her engagement ring, and then attended the Met Gala earlier this year solo.
However, she heaped praise on the 45-year-old in a recent interview, and said the ‘kind’ actor has been a huge help during her struggles with her mental health.
“I always say when he walks into the room he has this joie de vivre to him and some people ask, ‘What is this guy on?'” Katy said during an appearance on Dear Chelsea.
“He's just really got this happy, posi vibes and I'm a little bit more heady and prone to depression in some ways - and so it's good for me to be around him because he gets me out of my head a little bit,” she shared.
Katy shares one-year-old daughter Daisy Dove with Orlando, and said she didn’t want to be a mum at first, because she wasn't’ maternal.
Calling becoming a mum “the best decision I made in my entire life”, Katy continued: “I wasn't very maternal and I think that probably stems from some childhood stuff.”
She said seeing Orlando with his son Flynn, 11, who he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, was eye-opening, and joked she “must breed” with him.
“I got to see what a great dad he was with his first child, Flynn, who is now 11. So that definitely, primally influenced me - something inside of me said, 'You, mid-30s. This man is nice. Must breed’. He is a kind man,” she explained.
The star sparked rumours she and Orlando had split when she was spotted on the set of American Idol without her huge diamond and ruby engagement ring, which the actor had proposed to her with in February 2019.
She then attended the prestigious Met Gala in New York earlier this month without the British hunk, prompting speculation the couple had parted ways.
