Katy Perry leaves royal fans in stitches as she struggles to find her seat for Coronation

Katy Perry left royal fans in stitches as she was seen struggling to find her seat at the King's Coronation.

At the historic ceremony held at London's Westminster Abbey, King Charles and Camilla were crowned in front of 2000 guests, including the California Gurls singer.

Katy is set to perform at Sunday's Coronation concert alongside legends like Lionel Richie, Freya Ridings, Andrea Bocelli and Tiwa Savage.

In an clip uploaded to social media, Katy can be seen seeking help from British Vogue editor Edward Enninful before scanning the room for her seat. She then walked over to a section of seated guests and pointed to a row, seemingly asking whether that was her spot. Fans watching from home found the video hilarious.

"It's giving John Travolta meme energy," one laughed.

A second added: "Legend has it she’s still looking for that seat."

A third laughed, making reference to her hit track Fireworks: "At that moment she felt a bit like a plastic bag", in reference to her song Firework.

Former X Factor stars Jedward took to the comments to share their thoughts on Katy's outfit and more specifically the size of her hat.

"Spaceship hat was ready for takeoff," they laughed.

Social media was quick to echo Jedward and point out that whoever was sat behind the star may have trouble watching the historic ceremony.

One wrote: "Nice hat, but you wouldn’t want to be sat behind Katy Perry in Westminster Abbey. #Coronation ".

Another put: "Love young Katy Perry and her entire outfit….but i wouldn’t want to be sitting behind her. I think it’s a headband so perhaps she can easily remove it during the service."

Katy has been gearing up for her royal debut and told Extra TV that she was "excited" for her "wild" sleepover at the castle.

"I'm really excited… I might be posting a lot because I'm gonna be in a castle, for real. This is wild," she told Extra TV.

Promising her fans she would be giving them "what they deserve very soon", Katy claimed her Coronation experience was "very regal" and that the request aligned with "all her values."

"It was very regal, I loved it," Katy explained. "I'm an ambassador to one of his foundations for the British Asian Trust, which primarily focuses on ending child trafficking, which is a huge issue of our time that people don't talk enough about, and it just aligned with all my values… He asked me to sing and it all aligned."
