Pop superstar Katy Perry shocked her loyal fans as she shared photos of herself dressed as a ginger root.
The 38-year-old took to Instagram, where she has over 183 million followers, as she posted snaps of herself in a full ginger root costume as an advertisement campaign for an apple cider vinegar drink on Friday.
Katy was beaming as she danced around in the novelty outfit in a post which garnered over 338.000 likes on the social media platform. The caption read: "picture of health".
The three-picture post had two snaps of the popstar in the outrageous costume as she could not contain her laughter.
The second image was close-up of Bragg's organic apple cider vinegar ginger turmeric shot, which she was holding.
Bragg shared the same photos on their Instagram page with the caption: " Veggie fashion is the root of all things silly."
Katy and partner, Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, 45, were part of an investment group which bought Bragg Live Foods in 2019. It is thought that Katy had a close relationship with former CEO of the company, Patricia Bragg, when she was growing up in Santa Barbara, California.
The company also tagged the singer's post and her photos on their Instagram Stories, adding "@katyperry's favourite shot? We'll give you one guess" followed by a winking emoji.
It's not the first time that Katy has caused a stir on social media in recent months after people compared her to a robot during her Las Vegas residency.
The Firework singer broke her silence on the "eye glitch" during her Play gig at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas in October.
The incident went viral after her eye seemingly twitched and got stuck blinking while she was in the middle of performing. It had many fans poke fun at the star's "mechanical failure".
Katy was dressed in a can-inspired silver dress where one of her eyelids appeared to be stuck leaving the star struggling to open her right eye.
The mum-of-one took a few seconds to get her eye to open properly again before carrying on with the performance.
One fan suggested a more realistic reason which was that Katy's false eyelash may have got stuck to her bottom eyelash.
They wrote: "Lol it's her eyelash glue getting stuck to her bottom lid, happens to me all the time."
While another fan said: "The robot had a glitch." A second wrote: "Clone failure. Next time make sure all software are updated and make necessary patches."
