Katie Price has made the astonishing confession that her youngest son has not been to school in almost a year.
The 45-year-old former glamour model has five children; 21-year-old son Harvey whose father was 51-year-old ex-fling Dwight Yorke, 18-year-old son Junior and 16-year-old daughter Princess who she shares with 50-year-old ex-husband Peter Andre, and nine-year-old son Jett and eight-year-old daughter Bunny - who she shares with 36-year-old exotic dancer Kieran Hayler.
She often features her children in social media posts and via the various documentaries and reality shows that she appears on.
As a result, many fans feel as close to Katie’s kids as they do to her - and often ask her for updates on their lives during social media Q&As.
During a recent TikTok live Q&A with fans, Katie gave an update on her youngest son - revealing he has been out of school for nine months.
She explained: "Jett is good.
"He hasn't been to school for nine months, so he has homeschooling at the moment."
Katie is one of a number of celebrities who have decided to home school their own children.
Loose Women star Stacey Solomon has been a vocal advocate of the practice, saying that the alternative form of teaching has been beneficial for her two eldest sons, Zachary and Leighton.
She explained in a magazine article back in 2018: “Before I get started, I would like to say that every child is different and therefore responds differently to methods of teaching.
“Also, this wasn't a decision we made lightly. It's one we've been pondering over for a few years.
"When Zachary was halfway through Year Two he began to lose some of my favourite parts of his personality. Before that, he was often cheeky and making jokes, he never worried what people thought of him.
"He was a happy-go-lucky child, always inquisitive and wanting to know EVERYTHING about everything... He became very quiet and a little sad."
She added: "Homeschooling has always been at the back of my mind, because whenever I am with the boys and we are out in different environments their senses heighten and their enthusiasm to learn is at its best."
When both boys reached secondary school age, they joined mainstream school.
Stacey shared via Instagram at the time: "I've had the most amazing two years with you. Home education has been all that I imagined and so much more. It wasn’t always easy but it was always rewarding."
Meanwhile, Katie Price recently shared that she was diagnosed with ADHD which had affected her own learning abilities.
Opening up about her diagnosis after her terminally ill mother Amy revealed the news to the public, Katie told OK! Magazine that she feels she is learning how to listen now that she is at the age of 45.
She said: "I've tried to educate my mum, but my brain is wired differently to other people.
"I hate labels, but now my mum and I have both spoken to doctors and she has realised why I’ve done things in the past, why I act the way I do, why I do things, why I am the way I am."
She went on to add: "It's not because I don’t listen and take it on board, there's just something in me. I've got better now, I've learnt with therapy to hold back, to listen, and think of what other people are saying – maybe they’re right, maybe they're wrong, but I think of the consequences.
"It didn't exist in my head, a consequence, what could go wrong, so, I've learned. It’s taken me 45 years, but I'm still here."
