Katie Price says Lee Andrews ‘scammed her heart and stole her trust’ as she confirms split

Katie Price says Lee Andrews “scammed her heart and stole her trust” as she opens up on her split from the Dubai businessman.

The couple, who married in Dubai in January just days after they met, have faced constant scrutiny since they tied the knot, with Andrews making the headlines when he reportedly went “missing” for several weeks.

Earlier this month, reports emerged that Price dumped Andrews over WhatsApp from the UK after discovering £2.22 in his cryptocurrency bank account compared to the £37 million he claimed to have.

Addressing the split during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, September 16, Price said she feels “embarrassed” that she believed his “lies”.

“ He hasn't scammed me for money, but I feel he has scammed me, and because he fabricated a person that doesn't exist.”

Price said Andrews would repeatedly tell her that he would give her and her family some of his wealth despite her never asking.

She would tell him: “‘ It's all lovely, but you know, I don't care if you've got money or not’ and I've made it clear for nine months, ‘I do not care if you've got money or not. I get on with you and I’m falling in love with you.’”

Price said she later discovered that the fortune he claimed to have amassed never existed, stating that when she looked at his bank account, he only had £2.22.

Reflecting on the early stages of their romance, Price said she was drawn to his looks and admitted that his so-called wealth was attractive to her.

Earlier today, Andrews had sent a voice note exclusively into GMB, where he said that he feels like he has been thrown under the bus. He insisted he is not a criminal and "the funds are there".

He said that upon his return to the UK, which would be “very soon”, he would back up his claims “on any lie detector”.

“As far as filing divorce, I think that's probably the best thing for it," but he added: “I'll never stop loving Kate.”

Responding to the voice note, Price said it was never about money for her but she does believes that Andrews still loves her.

“I think he's got himself in such a situation where I think where he copy and paste what he says to women, that he actually did fall for me. I do believe he's fallen in love with me,” she said, adding that she feels the same.

“But who is he? I love the man I met, but I just can't take it. I'm not stupid.”

She said in one instance of Andrews’ lying, her husband claimed that the ring her purchased her was £72,000, but when she took it to the insurers to get it valued, she discovered it was instead worth £5,000.

“Why lie? I don't care if it was a lab diamond. It's a beautiful ring. Just don't lie to me.”

Asked what her family have made of the relationship and its subsequent breakdown, she said that they said it’s her “own fault”, and Price agreed.

“But I had to find out myself, because I have got Lee and I'm the one who's met him, I'm the one who's spent time with him. And it's so believable.”

Questioned on what’s next for her on her journey of looking for love, Price said her relationship with Andrews, particularly his absence, has made her value time by herself even more.

“In a way he's done me a favour to make me realise, course you could be on your own, Kate.”
