Former Big Brother winner Alex Reid told how marrying Katie Price after a whirlwind romance was like an "LSD trip".
Ex-MMA fighter Alex started dating Katie in July 2009, just nine months after she divorced Peter Andre.
By the following January, Alex had become a famous face through his association with the notorious Pricey and bagged a place on Celebrity Big Brother - which he went on to win.
Talking about his experience on the show, Alex explained how the intense environment of the Channel 4 reality show actually felt "peaceful" to him due to the chaos of his life with Katie on the outside.
Alex told the Daily Star: "I found it really peaceful, it was the most peaceful place at the time of my existence.
"My world, at the time, was upside down and like a bomb had hit it with all the shenanigans with my ex-partner, who I won't mention.
"I couldn't walk down the street or go the toilet without someone trying to take a picture - although I was in front of all cameras, it was so peaceful to not have a mobile phone and to not know what was going on in the outside world.
"My life felt like an LSD trip, I say that, I wasn't taking LSD, but the world was weird.
"I didn't know what was real or what was fake."
When asked if he would return to the reality show, Alex said: "If the right opportunity came along then, yeah, if there was something special about it.
"I'm being modest, but obviously, I would go in and try and win it.
"I had the highest vote ever."
Alex and Katie quickly tied the knot during their whirlwind romance but after 11 months of marriage, the pair split, with Katie citing that she married him "too soon".
Nowadays, his life is totally different from his reality heyday as he is currently expecting newborn twins any time now with his partner of ten years and stunning IVF blogger, Nikki Manashe, 36.
Although Alex was enjoying the boat party, which took place on the River Thames and had a VIP guestlist, he said he was on "red alert" as he waits for the arrival of his twins.
The star revealed that he has been engaged "for a while" but says the couple are "waiting for their kids to grow up" so they can play a big part of their parents' day.
Alex already shares a daughter, Anastacia, with Nikki, and he also has a daughter, Dolly, from his previous relationship with fellow Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton.
