Katie Price 'numb and shocked' as beloved dog Blade dies and says she 'has no words'

Katie Price has been left 'numb' and 'shocked' by the death of her beloved dog Blade. The mum-of-five first welcomed her pet pooch into the family in 2019 after being held at gunpoint in South Africa during a carjacking.

Posting to Instagram, Katie shared the sad news with fans in a post with the pair of them spending time together. She wrote: "Words can’t express the loss of my best friend, my protector, my absolutely everything. who had sadly passed away today. I have no words to say how I’m feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade."

The sad news comes just three years after her heartbreak over the death of Rolo, the little French bulldog she bought for her daughter Princess's 13th birthday. The dog tragically suffocated to death after getting stuck under an armchair at Katie's home.

Katie had bought Rolo in a bid to cheer up Princess after Sparkle, her beloved Alsatian, was struck by a car and killed. Sparkle was adopted in 2019 but kept running out into the A24 after escaping the family's West Sussex mansion. Sparkle's half-brother, Bear, had three near-death experiences on the same stretch of road.

He was fortunately found on the dual-carriageway by a police officer. After a run-in with another dog in April 2019, the family said goodbye to the pup after Katie decided to rehome him for his own good. A representative for Katie told The Mirror at the time: "Yes she’s had to give Bear away because he kept running onto the road and he had bitten another dog."

One of Katie's horses was killed on the same stretch of road in 2017, after breaking loose from a nearby field. German Shepherd Queenie was also killed by a motorist in 2018 - this time in an alleged hit and run by a pizza delivery driver.

It comes as a petition to ban Katie Price from buying any more pets - first started in 2020 after Rolo's death - reached 30,000 signatures. In April, Katie was allegedly reported to the RSPCA over accusations that she has been 'neglecting her chihuahuas'. An eye-witness claimed they had seen the star’s beloved dogs walking around in their own excrement beside their 'filthy cages'.

While the other horses were found injured but okay, Katie's horse has sadly been hit by a driver on the A24 and was killed in the crash. She wrote on Instagram at the time: "Thank god the driver of this car was very lucky and escaped and wished him well, police were amazing and so was the local community and thank them all!

"Our friends other 4 horses thank god are alive with a couple of them injured and are still being treated by the vet and will be ok!"
