Katie Price is 'so proud' of her son Harvey as he learns to do his weekly food shop

Katie Price said she was 'so proud' of her son Harvey as he learns to do his weekly food shop for the first time.

The model and author was bursting with pride as she took to social media to upload touching snaps of her eldest son, who has complex needs and moved to a specialist residential college last year.

Documenting Harvey’s trip to a local supermarket, Katie shared snaps of the teenager carefully placing food in his basket, with the help of a carer.

“Harvey learning new independent skills,” she wrote, alongside a green heart emoji.

She then uploaded another picture, showing Harvey in a green hoodie picking out bags of potatoes.

“Learning how to do his weekly shop and what foods to buy,” Katie wrote.

“So proud! Love you Harv!”

Harvey, 19, is currently living in a residential college, and cameras followed his journey in last year’s BBC One documentary Katie Price : Harvey and Me.

A follow-up was aired last month, Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next, which focused on the ex-glamour model as she tried to cope with going from being her son’s sole carer to having him live three hours away at the specialist college.

She said it was “hard to let go”, and spoke about their incredible bond, admitting she couldn’t bear to think of him missing her.

“It's so upsetting to think I won't see him every day but this is the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively because I don't want him to think I'm just getting rid of him,” she told the cameras.

“I need to learn to let go but it's tough - anyone in my position knows how hard it is. We have an incredible bond. I don't know how Harvey will react or how he'll feel when I can't get to him. It's too painful to think about,” the mum-of-five continued.

She said she would be heartbroken if she was unable to see him when he needed her due to the long journey, and also because she has to “juggle him with my other kids”.

Katie is also mum to son Junior, 16, and Princess, 14, who she shares with ex-Peter Andre, as well as Jett, 8 and Bunny, 6, who she shares with Kieran Hayler.

The 43-year-old delighted fans when she shared a picture of Harvey relaxing in the sunshine while playing on his tablet and a large stone frog ornament.

The teenager is a big fan of the amphibians, and even had a frog-themed room as a child, and doting mum Katie proudly shared the snap on Instagram.

“Mr Price enjoying the sunshine,” she wrote.

“He’s just the best!” one of her followers commented.

“Legend of a young man,” another added.
