Kathryn Kates dead as Orange is the New Black star dies aged 73 after cancer battle

Orange is the New Black actress Kathryn Kates has passed away aged 73.

The star's reps at Headline Talent Agency confirmed to Deadline that she sadly died in Florida at the weekend after a cancer battle.

It is not clear what kind of cancer Kathryn suffered from, but the statement suggests that she had previously beaten the disease and that it had returned in the past year.
