Katherine Ryan has shared the hilarious moment her Masked Singer reveal was watched by her kids, after she's been masquerading as Pigeon on the ITV show for the last few weeks.
Following her reveal on Saturday night, Katherine admitted she'd not told her children about her undercover TV work as they watch the show as a family and she wanted to surprise them.
Katherine was revealed to be Pigeon on the latest episode of the surreal ITV singing show, after fooling viewers and the judges with a convincing Essex accent.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday morning, the stand-up comic shared the moment her kids watched her unmasking.
First up was teenage daughter Violet who did not take the news well at all.
As the Pigeon head came off, the youngster raged from the sofa: "Obviously! I knew this the whole time. I knew it wasn't Gemma Collins.
"Why would you lie? You said you weren't on it!" she yelled at her mum.
"I knew it! I was right!," insisted Violet before storming out the room.
Katherine's son Freddie has a slightly more subdued response to the news.
In an adorable video posted to Instagram, Freddie was seen standing up close to the TV as he watched his mother's face emerge on the screen.
As the tot stood in stood silence, Katherine could be heard off-camera asking him "Who is that? Who is hiding?"
"Mama!" replied Freddie before dismissing the telly to rush over to see his new baby sister Fenna Grace.
"Tough crowd," joked Katherine in the comments as she shared the lack-lustre response to fans.
"He's confused bless him!" joked one fan.
"So cute , I genuinely thought you was the GC," said another
Katherine's reveal came after she wound up in The Masked Singer's bottom two during Saturday night’s show alongside Jacket Potato, following a vote by the studio audience.
After deliberating, the judges decided to unmask Pigeon and offered their final guess of who the character could be – with suggestions including actress Liza Tarbuck, model Jodie Kidd, Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha and actress Emily Atack.
Following her reveal, Ryan explained that she had kept her involvement in the show a secret from her daughter Violet, saying: “You can’t tell my daughter anything because she’d spill it to her whole school so she’ll be finding out with everyone else. We watch the show together.”
Earlier in the episode Ryan had performed Cheryl Cole’s Fight For This Love and following her unmasking said: “I love Cheryl and I used to do a bit of roast comedy in my act about her.”
She jokingly added: “So I feel like it’s beautiful karma that I went off on her song.”
Joel Dommett commented: “You’re very pregnant right now,” Ryan, who has since welcomed her third child, replied: “I’ve got like a month left, I have a baby’s foot in my lung at most times. It’s actually harder than I thought.”
The Masked Singer continues on Saturdays at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
