Children are known for often asking awkward questions - and the Princess of Wales came up against one herself as she was seen making a sweet reply.
Kate Middleton was visiting the opening of the Young V&A in London on Wednesday when one of the youngsters asked her how old she was.
The girl posed the innocent question as the Princess was chatting with the new attraction's young tour guides, and gave a hilarious response.
A clip of the sweet moment on the official visit shows the royal responding, as she put her finger to her mouth saying, "I'm 41. Shh... don't tell anyone."
The children had been giving her gift bags to take home to George, Charlotte and Louis when the heart-warming interaction was captured.
During the visit, the Princess was also seen asking the youngsters about their ambitions as well as getting stuck in with a submarine they were building.
The 41-year-old mimicked putting on a seatbelt in the construction as she asked, "do I strap myself in?"
She said: "Does it sit on the bottom of the sea floor? Wow, that’s great."
Looking at the other children's inventions, Kate got stuck in as she asked what they were for and about the children's interests.
The Princess paused to marvel at a tiny white Microlino car suspended from the ceiling in the atrium, before moving on to look at the best collection of historic dolls houses in the world.
Kate revealed Prince George loved telling stories as the children told her theirs, saying in one adorable moment: "They tell me stories all the time. George was brushing his teeth and suddenly his tooth fell out."
During Wednesday's visit, in which she wore an elegant pastel pink dress, Kate also chatted with the Victoria & Albert Museum's director, former Labour MP Tristram Hunt.
She told Mr Hunt: "This is so inspiring, to have a place for children so young to get design inspiration."
The museum's latest attraction opens to the public this weekend following a £13million investment.
An art history graduate, Kate has been a patron for the V&A since 2018.
