Kate Middleton made an awkward mistake while doing the back-to-school shop with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Along with little brother Prince Louis, the young royals are looking forward to starting new school Lambrook in just a few weeks after William and Kate moved the family from London to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
Like so many other parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge now face the challenge of getting everything the youngsters need for the year ahead, including uniform, PE kit and stationary. However, it appears that when Kate previously took George and Charlotte for the dreaded back-to-school shop, it didn't all go according to plan, the Mirror reports.
In 2018, she was spotted with her two eldest children looking for school shoes in the Peter Jones department store in London. However, a source told Hello! that Kate made a classic parenting blunder - and forgot to take socks for George and Charlotte to wear while they tried on the new shoes.
The youngsters were wearing their summer sandals when they went to pick out their new shoes. So like many mums before her, Kate had to borrow socks from the store.
George and Charlotte have both been attending Thomas’s School Battersea for the last few years, with Louis at Wilcocks Nursery School in South Kensington. When they start at Lambrook in a few weeks time, they will be able to enjoy facilities such as the school’s own orchard, woodland, a nine-hole golf course, a 25-metre swimming pool, as well as a cricket pitch. Pupils can even try their hand at polo.
Lambrook school is a day and boarding school for boys and girls aged from three to 13 years. The Cambridge children will be day pupils for now.
The school stated on its website that it's "keen to encourage children to develop their interests and explore things that they are passionate about". Kensington Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have today announced that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will attend Lambrook School in Berkshire from September 2022.
"Their Royal Highnesses are hugely grateful to Thomas's Battersea where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education since 2017 and 2019 respectively and are pleased to have found a school for all three of their children which shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas's."
William and Kate will be spending in excess of £53,000 a year on their children's private education.
