Kate Garraway’s daughter Darcey found a way to make er late father Derek part of their special day at the Wimbledon final.
The 18-year-old and Good Morning Britain host, 57, enjoyed a mother-daughter outing on Sunday when they attended the star-studded match in which Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic.
Garraway shared a slew of snaps online from their time at SW19, including tucking into the staple of strawberries and cream, where the teen could be seen sporting one of Mr Draper’s distinctive white Panama hats with a black trim.
The sweet gesture was spotted by an eagle-eyed fan in the comments section on the post.
"Derek’s hat????" they asked, to which Garraway responded: “Yes it is Derek’s hat - good spot! She wears it well doesn’t she.”
Draper died on January 3 aged 56 after suffering a heart attack just before Christmas almost four years after he first fell seriously ill with Covid.
He was plagued with health woes after contracting the virus in March 2020, and was receiving 24 hour care.
Garraway, who was married to Draper for 18 years and shared two children with him, supported him throughout and was there until the very end, holding his hand.
Brave Darcey acted a pallbearer at his funeral, which took place on February 2 at St Mary the Virgin church in Primrose Hill.
It was the same church in which Garraway and Draper were married in September 2005.
Draper’s funeral service was attended by a number of the couple's high profile friends including Sir Elton John, Keir Starmer and a string of ITV presenters such as Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid.
