BENGALURU: The Karnataka revenue department has transferred 98 sub-registrars in the past 10 days, a move that has raised eyebrows across the political and bureaucratic spectrum, reports Sandeep Moudgal.
Sub-registrars told TOI that in a normal transfer season, the thumb rule is that not more than 6% (12 to 15 sub-registrars), who have completed two years of service in a particular area, are transferred. However, ahead of the 2023 elections, almost 40% of them have been transferred.
