MANDYA: Kalarajegowda, the headmaster of a school in Maragowdanahalli village of Malavalli taluk has been suspended on the charges of stealing food grains meant for midday meal programme
The police has registered an First Information Report (FIR) against him.
According to police, Kalarajegowda allegedly sold the food grains of midday meals in black market.
A video of the teacher's act had gone viral in social media platforms.
Javaregowda, deputy director for public instruction (DDPI) told reporters Kalarajegowda has been suspended from the service pending a departmental enquiry against him. The department had lodged a police complaint against him, he stated.
The government high school, where accused was working, is the most sought-after school in the region. It has been the dream of parents of Maragowdanahalli and surrounding villages to admit their wards in this school. Every year, around 100 students from this school clear the National Talent Search (NTSE) and National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) exams.
“Our school shot to fame as the school authorities strived hard for a decade to make our school most sought-after school in the region. Unfortunately, the reputation of this school is now hit,” alleged villagers.
