Fans of Kanye West have been quick to criticise the star's latest music video which shows him appearing to "kidnap and bury alive" his estranged wife Kim Kardashian's boyfriend, Pete Davidson.
Kim, 41, was officially declared single by the courts on Wednesday and Ye, 44, followed up the news by releasing an animated video for his new tune.
In the animation, the Donda singer raps about SNL comedian Pete, 28, as visuals onscreen act out a violent scenario.
In the song, Ye raps: "God saved me from the crash, just so I can beat Pete Davidson's a**."
As the lyrics are recited, a cartoon version of the man Ye has labelled Skete is seen being "buried alive".
The shocking video also sees the main character appearing to drag a lifeless tied up body with a bag over its head.
It concludes with a final dig at Pete as text appears on the screen saying: "EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER / EXCEPT SKETE YOU KNOW WHO / JK HE'S FINE."
The disturbing video wasn't met with open arms by many social media users who quickly hit out at the portrayal.
One Twitter user wrote: "Oh my God! Kanye west release a video which show He Buries Pete Davidson Alive, Kanye west video is actually disturbing, pete Davidson needs to sue and file a restraining order."
Another agreed, writing: "Have u guys seen the eazy kanye west music video it is disturbing. i hope pete has a lot of security guards cos he needs extra at this point."
A third wrote: "Disturbing. Where is the intervention, before this goes horribly, horribly wrong?"
And a fourth also penned: "wow @kanyewest, obsessed much? Poor Pete. Needs a restraining order @KimKardashian."
Earlier in the day, Kim changed her name from Kardashian-West back to just Kardashian after a motion was granted by a judge at Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The reality star, who appeared by videolink at her hearing on Wednesday, made the request for the legal change in December.
The motion to change her marital status has been granted before details of child custody and property are worked out.
Kim and Kanye share four kids together; North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two.
Despite the dissolution of their legal marital status, there are further conditions regarding retirement plans and asset management that are still to be resolved.
