No. 17 Kansas State showcased an impressive performance in their 45-18 victory over West Virginia on Saturday night. Despite West Virginia's focus on containing Big 12 rushing leader DJ Giddens, Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson excelled, throwing three touchdown passes and achieving a career-high of 298 passing yards.

Johnson's development as a passer was highlighted by Kansas State coach Chris Klieman, who praised his poise and patience in executing the game plan. Johnson's ability to exploit gaps in West Virginia's defense was evident as he connected with his receivers for crucial plays throughout the game.
