Kansas City native Rob Riggle announced as Drum Honoree for Chiefs’ home opener

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to kick off the NFL’s 2024 regular season with a Thursday night matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, their first meeting since a dramatic 17-10 win in the AFC Championship game in January.

With excitement growing around the start of the team’s 2024 Super Bowl campaign, many area-native celebrities are expected to be in attendance, including comedian and Kansas City native Rob Riggle, who will be serving as the Chiefs’ Drum Honoree for the Week 1 matchup.

Riggle, who moved to Overland Park, Kansas at the age of two, has been vocal about his fandom for years and frequently attends regular season games. The Step Brothers star has become one of Kansas City’s most recognizable ambassadors and appeared at Super Bowl LVIII earlier this year.

The comedian and actor is also set to host the ‘World’s Biggest Tailgate’ before Thursday’s game at 5 PM CST. Fans hoping to take part in the event should arrive well ahead of time for a chance to enjoy food, drinks, and games with celebrities and former Chiefs stars.
