KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Last month, the homes of Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback and tight end were both broken into within days of each other, according to law enforcement reports. The break-ins occurred just before and during the Chiefs’ home victory over the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7.
One day before the game, law enforcement responded to a home in a private gated community in northwestern Cass County, near the city's metropolitan area. The incident was reported as a burglary, with no details provided on missing items.
Following the game, another home matching the address of the Chiefs' tight end was broken into in the suburb of Leawood, Kansas. The offense report indicated losses of $20,000 in cash and damage to a rear door of the 16,000-square-foot home.
Both players expressed frustration and disappointment over the incidents. The investigations are ongoing, with law enforcement officials declining to provide further details or confirm any arrests. The prosecutor's office for the county and the Johnson County prosecutor's office did not offer any comments on the cases.
No injuries were reported in either break-in, and the players' names were not listed in the official reports. The Chiefs' quarterback emphasized that such incidents are something no one would want to experience.
