KANPUR: Additional sessions judge (Court no. 16) Jitendra Kumar Dwivedi on Wednesday postponed hearing on the bail application of Hayat Zafar Hashmi, accused in the June 3 violence in the city because the prosecution did not get essential documents in time. The court has fixed July 8 as the next date for hearing.
According to ADGC and special prosecutor Dinesh Agarwal, as many as 51 bail applications of the accused of Nai Sadak violence were to be heard on Wednesday but the prosecution sought time as it received the case diary quite late. The court was requested to grant some more time so that the case diary could be read and the prosecution could prepare arguments.
