Vice President Kamala Harris, the likely Democratic nominee for president, is currently in the process of selecting her running mate and is set to embark on a battleground tour next week. Sources have indicated that Harris will be making appearances in key battleground states alongside her chosen vice presidential candidate, suggesting that a decision is imminent.
Among the list of potential choices are Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Following President Biden's unexpected withdrawal from the race, Harris assumed the top position on the Democratic ticket just over a week ago. Despite Biden's initial commitment to continue his campaign, mounting pressure from within his party led to his decision to step aside, endorsing Harris as his successor.
Since taking the lead, Harris has managed to raise an impressive sum of over $200 million in campaign funds. Her formal nomination as the Democratic candidate is anticipated to take place at the upcoming Democratic National Convention scheduled for next month.
