Kai Havertz predicts major Mauricio Pochettino problem at Chelsea as Todd Boehly sent message

Kai Havertz has outlined the biggest problem that Mauricio Pochettino faces if he is appointed as next Chelsea manager. The former Tottenham boss has been heavily linked with replacing Frank Lampard – and if he could certainly have his work cut out.

football.london understands that the Blues have held 'very positive talks' with Pochettino so far, with Todd Boehly hopeful of appointing a permanent head coach at the end of the season. While the two parties are yet to reach an agreement, there is confidence that a deal can be struck.

Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique were both once heavily linked with the vacant position at Stamford Bridge but they've since dropped out, leaving Pochettino in the clear. In an interview with Sky Germany, as quoted by Kicker, Havertz explained what mission awaits the Argentinian.

"We got a lot of new players over the winter who first have to settle in with us in order to be able to show their quality," said the 23-year-old. "Of course, it’s easy to find excuses.

"I’m not blaming everything on something. At the end of the day, we’re all professional footballers and we have to win football games

"Now we have our backs to the wall and aren’t doing very well in the table. We just have to do as well as possible from the last six games."

Havertz also revealed what impact Thomas Tuchel's abrupt exit had on the club. The Chelsea forward added: "The season actually started relatively quietly even though we had a change of ownership, which was a big change for the whole club.

"And then Thomas Tuchel was fired, which of course always makes a big difference in a team like this when you’ve been successful with a coach and then he gets fired out of nowhere."

Then, Havertz insisted that the Blues squad are desperate to win over the fans with a win against Arsenal. The Gunners will welcome Lampard's side to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening in what is set to be a feisty London derby.

"It’s a London derby, so hopefully we can get the fans on our side again," the Germany international said."We hope to tease Arsenal a little bit. They’re in the title fight now, which is where we want to be. And if you can beat your rivals, that’s always good for the fans."
