JW Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 hotel brands, last week opened JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort Suites, Khao Lak's second JW Marriott resort. The property, adjacent to JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, boasts a stunning seafront retreat featuring two-bedroom suites for family getaways and one of the longest swimming pools in Southeast Asia. Here are a few highlights.
Khao Lak is one of Thailand's quieter coastal destinations with sandy beaches and scuba diving, which allows the resort to foster togetherness through experiences such as culinary workshops in the JW Garden and educational activities through the shark nursery and conservation project.
The resort’s 52 suites range from 89-111m² with bright spaces, incorporating southern Thai design in contemporary living areas with private terraces or balconies. A collection of pool access suites allows guests to swim into a 2.4km-long lagoon that features a water slide, wave pool and an aqua trampoline, which the property claims is the longest in Southeast Asia. Kids in pool access suites can choose to be transported to their rooms by boat and guests can enjoy the Coconut Boat, which cruises around the lagoon daily loaded with fresh, cold coconuts.
New additions include Sala Restaurant & Pool Bar, a poolside all-day dining venue offering international cuisines; Drift Beach Bar & Grill, a meat and seafood grill inspired by Mediterranean cuisine; and JW Garden offers a variety of homegrown organic herbs, spices and other ingredients, used throughout the resort.
Guests also have access to the facilities of JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, namely Aqua Play Zone, a fully-equipped fitness centre, racket sports, the Kids Club and Quan Spa. The resort's collection of 11 restaurants and bars means an extensive array of casual and formal dining, ranging from traditional Thai to Japanese and Italian cuisines. Visit bit.ly/3CglWPC.
