Former Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn has joined Borussia Monchengladbach on loan from Como until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The 26-year-old sealed a return to Germany on Tuesday afternoon after a difficult first campaign in Serie A, having left Celtic in a big-money move to Como last summer.

Kuhn struggled to match the levels he reached in Glasgow under Cesc Fabregas, scoring once and registering one assist in 23 Serie A appearances for the Italian side. Como confirmed the winger’s departure and wished him well for the remainder of the campaign.
Gladbach sporting director Rouven Schroder believes the former Celtic man can make an instant impact after the Bundesliga club moved late in the transfer window.
He said: “We have always said that, when a window of opportunity opens, we want to go in for a player who will strengthen us immediately, whose profile we currently lack in the squad and who is financially feasible.
“Nicolas is a left-footed, versatile attacker who is quick, can beat his man one-on-one and also poses a threat to goal. He’s proved that all on the international stage.”

Kuhn said the opportunity to play in the Bundesliga was a major factor in choosing Gladbach.
He said: “I had really great talks with the board which made it really clear that this was the step I wanted to take. Borussia are an ambitious and cool club.
“In general, it was always my goal to play in the Bundesliga, and I’m very glad that it’s now a reality.”
Kuhn joined Celtic from Rapid Vienna in January 2024 and became a key attacking figure, scoring 24 goals and providing 18 assists in 69 appearances. He helped the club win two league titles, the Scottish Cup and the League Cup before Celtic cashed in on the German winger.
