Jury deliberations begin in trial of store owner who shot and killed Black 14-year-old

A jury has begun deliberations after hearing closing arguments in the trial of a store owner charged with murder in a 2023 fatal shooting of a Black 14-year-old.

Prosecutors and defense lawyers painted different pictures of the killing. The prosecution insists the shooting was unprovoked while defense lawyers have argued Chikei Rick Chow only fired to defend his son.
