Jury deliberations have commenced in the trial of a Las Vegas Democratic politician charged with the murder of an investigative journalist who was writing critical stories about the official. The accused, 47-year-old, is on trial for the killing of the journalist in 2022.
During the trial, the prosecutor presented a surprise text message sent from the accused's wife that had disappeared from his phone. The accused maintained his innocence, claiming that he was being framed by colleagues, real estate agents, business owners, and police in retaliation for his efforts to combat corruption in his role at an office handling unclaimed estates.
